life just ups and kicks ya in the teeth.
A little more that a year ago (if I remember correctly), I promised you folks that I was going to resume the adventures of Space Wolf.
But even as I was roughing out the first ten (or so) pages, I got kicked in the teeth. It seems that the higher powers at Goodrich Interiors, my "former" employer, decided to kick my ass to the curb. They said I was being "temporarily laid off"; but if I wanted to seek employment elsewhere... well, you get the picture.
Anyway, long story short, after giving Goodrich 30 years of dedicated service,I found myself unemployed in one of the worst economies in America's history. After several months of job seeking and living off my severance, I still couldn't find any work as a Technical Illustrator or Videographer.
I was finally able to land two jobs. Package Handler at Fed Ex and custodian at a local high school. Both jobs are part-time, no benefits, and only paying me about half of what I was making at Goodrich, which was $50,000+, year. But hey, at least, I'm working, and earning some money. I'm thankful for that.
Luckily my wife and I were able to get our house payment reduced, and my two oldest sons moved out on their own, which is saving us about a grand a month, but it's still a struggle.
I don't post this tale of woe to burden you with my hardship, or to gain your sympathy. In fact, I've been wrestling with the idea of either posting this in my journal, or just cancelling my Deviantart membership and fading away into obscurity.
But many of you were so looking forward to the return of Space Wolf, that I at least owed you an explaination as to why it was a no-show.
Thanx for lending me your attention.

Take care and may your muse always be kind to you.

Yeah, free time is something of a premium for me these days. Working two jobs will do that to a person.
But I promise, Space Wolf WILL return.
Sooner than you think.
Big spaceWolf fan...
Thank you!

P.S. Many thanks to your son for serving.
